Earle Clubb

Earle (43) from Troutville, VA, was the founding Troopmaster of Troop VA-3021 chartered by Orchard Hills Church in Roanoke, died peacefully in his home Tuesday, August 6, 2019.

He passionately loved God and his family. He enjoyed hiking, camping and homesteading. Earle was a computer engineer at Valcom, and an Elder at Orchard Hills Church . For more information visit

Here is a touching journal entry excerpt entitled Dancing with Jesus written by his wife Cathy on 8/6.

“…when Earle breathed his last breath. Mom Clubb was right there with me. It was a kind of surreal closure. The house was quiet (especially after we turned off the O2 condenser), and had total peace and joy that Earle is no longer suffering. The cancer was over. Jesus won. And yet an unsettling feeling that a new journey had begun. Telling the children was rough, but I was so glad I wasn’t alone in the house. Friends and family quickly descended on our home in a flurry of food and cleaning.  We are so blessed, and so very, very sad. “

Paul Hans Farrell,

(51) Oct 1, 1965 – June 17, 2017. New Milford, NJ. Many know Paul as a good man of faith, who worked at being a good husband, a good father, and a good friend, and now as a good and faithful servant. He was very active as a Christian in the lives of youth and other adult youth leaders in and around New Jersey as a Scoutmaster in BSA Troop 113, Troopmaster of Trail Life USA (TLUSA) Troop NJ-0113, as well as active in the Christian Service Brigade (CSB) Ranger, Stockade, Unit 1803, Northern Valley Evangelical Free Church. Obituary

Paul was a prolific writer and blogger and had a lot to say about Christian fatherhood and parenting, and leadership at He said, “This blog is a place for me to share my thoughts and opinions about Trail Life USA.  It is not an official blog of that organization, nor are my comments officially blessed by the organization.  To the extent information is published about the organization at this blog, we intend it to be accurate and promotional/educational, but offer no guarantee of veracity since it’s an unofficial fan site.”

Words to live on, from a leader’s, leader

William “Bill” Gordon McKim (75) — May 30,2017

The founding Troopmaster of Trail Life USA Troop VA-0007 chartered by Fairmount Christian Church, Mechanicsville, Virginia. It’s been said that Bill enjoyed retirement by being active in his church and community by starting a Trail Life USA program for boys K-12, which is ongoing. For over 50 years, he was a committed leader in Boy Scouts as well as Sunday school teacher (Fellowship Class), Deacon, and any job he was asked to do. He led a group of older men in “Second Half” in Covenant Woods.

Justin Hunt — Bill McKim had a vision when he joined Trail Life USA in 2014. Leading boys to grow into wise, adventurous men of God was one of his highest priorities. This was evident in the time we spent together—at meetings, over lunches, around campfires. He truly believed that if we “trained up a child in the way he should go . . .,” that both the child and the mentor would be better for it.

Larry Agee — He was a great friend and his calling and passion was teaching young men and boys Christian moral character. Richard L. Simmons — He was an awesome man and leader! Wayne Hines — Bill was a fine Christian gentleman. I have many wonderful memories of him and his dedication in helping to guide young men along the right path. WWW Karen Chadwick — Bill McKim is such an example to me of living a life with purpose, especially in the “second half”. Andrew Fitzgerald — Good bye Bill. It was a true honor to know you. You are missed greatly.
