Trail Life USA emphasizes service. Our mission is,”… to guide generations of courageous young men to honor God, lead with Integrity, serve others, and experience outdoor adventure” Twice a year—in January and June—we ask Troops to make an intentional effort to serve by picking a project that can be done as a group. The January project benefits your Charter Organization. In June, the focus is to benefit the broader community.
There’s no list of “required” service project activities. Some Troops have built a Habitat house or served food at a homeless shelter. Many Troops are restoring trails for state and local parks. Do something for others that goes beyond your church and your Troop. If you need Ideas, search online or ask your local Area Team. Participating Troops can purchase a Serve In Love ribbon after they have completed their service project(s).
Thanks for all you do to further the mission of Trail Life USA. We are so grateful for your partnership In developing young men with a servant heart!
Over the centuries and across many cultures, civilians have given due honor to their returning warriors. It is fitting that America should also welcome home our servicemen and women who gave so much to preserve freedom. Since such respect has been reserved for winners, Americans have come to honor the outcome, largely overlooking great service and sacrifice. Thus, those who served our country have lost the affectionate honor, often given instead to those who have given far less – but in so doing, all Americans have lost far more. Our omission has condemned us all to a futile search for the true meaning of heroism. Therefore, Commanders, you are called upon to render one final service to your country. Gather your men and women, assemble them in parade array, and march them. March them down that avenue which is reserved for meting out the tribute due America’s heroes. See more
One of our fifteen Core Values is “Volunteer-Driven”. Volunteers are the lifeblood of Trail Life USA. Our support system, therefore, is delivered by trained, knowledgeable, qualified volunteers. Here are the levels of Troop Leader Support for Trail Life USA. Challenge yourself to find the resource you need before moving on to the next level! We can not support all of our members going directly to our home office staff, so we expect members to us and use this Levels of Troop Support process. Also by using this process volunteers up and down the flowchart get the benefit of being part of the support process.
Two great ministries teaching Bible-based growth toward becoming Godly individuals, respecting life (from womb-tomb), believing in traditional marriage and parenting between a man and a woman, and being responsible citizens by serving and treating others as they would like to be treated.
